About Beatriz Ritzenthaler
A native of Brazil, Beatriz Augusta Ritzenthaler received a Bachelor of Music degree in Piano Performance at the Brazilian Conservatory of Music in Rio de Janeiro in 1998, and a Master’s degree in Piano Performance at Andrews University in 2005, where she studied with Dr Peter Cooper.
Mrs. Ritzenthaler has been involved in playing piano since early childhood, participating in various piano competitions where she has won several awards and was a prizewinner at the International Piano Competition Maryse Cheilan in France.
She also has developed an extensive career as a piano performer including solo recitals at major Concert halls in South America, Europe, and USA, including “ Cecilia Meireles” Hall in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, “Claudio Arrau” Hall in Chile, “ Saint Paul” College in France and Howard Performing Arts Center, USA.
In 1998 she recorded her first album entitled “ Let’s Celebrate, Sacred Concerts for Piano and Orchestra” in Indianapolis, IN. Since then she has performed this work around Brazil and several other Countries as well on television and Christian Radio programs in South America and in The United States.
Mrs. Ritzenthaler has served as the piano accompanist for Andrews University Chorale during the 2001-2002 school year under the direction of Mr. Stephen Zork, and traveled to Tennessee, Illinois and Ohio.
Mrs. Ritzenthaler was selected as one of seventeen students to represent the AU Department of Music in a benefit concert for the Howard Performing Arts Center; She also performed in Kettering SDA Church, Ohio. In 2003 she was invited to be the pianist of Choir Festival at Broadview Academy Illinois.
Mrs. Ritzenthaler was a winner of the Andrews University Young Artist Competition in 2004 and performed Rachmaninoff’s Piano Concerto No. 2 with the AU Symphony Orchestra.
Mrs Ritzenthaler was awarded a Department of Music Scholarship at Andrews University and,
an Honorary Scholarship from Fundação Manoel de Barros, Brazil. She is a member of Phi Kappa Phi and has been honored with a biographical record in Who’s Who in America 2005
and 2007 edition.
Currently she has a large piano studio and she also is a pianist for Trinity United Methodist Church in Niles and Village Church in Berrien Springs as well.
Mrs Ritzenthaler Parents and two brothers with there families live in Brazil. At present she resides in Berrien Springs Michigan with her husband Rob.
